JHPC-quantum

Purpose of the Test User Program
-
Collection of evaluation and feedback from test users
-
Enhancement of software and system usability
-
Fostering the development of a user community
Program Flow

Requirements for Use
-
Be a test user of the linked software, i.e., use the linked software.
-
Have a specific plan for using the linked software and be prepared to do so.
-
Aim to complete the implementation within six months.
Approach to Intellectual Property
-
Intellectual Property Belonging Solely to Test Users
Intellectual property related to algorithms and software used in applications executed and evaluated on HPC, quantum, and hybrid systems, as well as input data and execution result data, shall belong solely to the test users.
-
Shared Intellectual Property (e.g., algorithm summaries, execution profiles)
This refers to the secondary use of information such as summaries of algorithms or software submitted as part of the application, execution profiles (e.g., execution time, expected wait time), and insights derived from evaluation results—such as identified issues or areas for improvement.
-
Intellectual Property Belonging to NEDO and the Providing Institutions
NEDO: Intellectual property related to the newly developed hybrid systems to be tested and evaluated under this project. NEDO: Intellectual property resulting from improvements in the functionality and performance of the hybrid systems, based on the evaluation and analysis results. Background intellectual property: Intellectual property held by the providers of the quantum and HPC systems used in the program.
-
Handling of Shared Intellectual Property for Selected Projects
Please note that for selected projects, the following information will be shared with NEDO, the commissioning agency of this program: the name of the test user organization, a summary of the algorithm or software submitted, and an overview of the project’s progress. Additionally, for selected projects, we kindly request your cooperation in allowing both parties to agree on the disclosure—within an agreed scope—of information such as the name of the test user organization, a summary of the algorithm or software submitted, and an overview of the evaluation results. This information may be published as part of the implementation outcomes of the Test User Program.
Approach to Presenting Results
-
Application for Presenting Results
As with standard NEDO project result presentations, please submit an application in advance. The NEDO project team will review and approve the application and subsequently report it to NEDO. However, presentations that pertain solely to intellectual property owned exclusively by external collaborators will be handled independently and outside the scope of NEDO procedures.
-
Acknowledgments
For presentations handled in accordance with NEDO project result procedures, please include an acknowledgment of NEDO’s support.
Evaluation Criteria
